Regional Networking Meeting on the Role of Women as Mediators in Peace, Climate, and Regional Communication

At the invitation of the German Parliamentary Organization, and as part of a two-month series of training sessions, the conference was held via Zoom on the Women Take Leadership program.
A number of representatives from relevant government agencies and ministries attended, including the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Agricultural Syndicate, a number of non-governmental organizations, and several regional entities from across the Middle East and North Africa, including Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan, Libya, and several Arab countries. Members of the Arab Network for Women’s Civil Society also attended.
The Taybeh Organization for Relief and Development was invited to attend the conference.
Women peacebuilders and environmental defenders from Iraq and the region came together to exchange, learn, and lead.

Women Take Leadership is a comprehensive 18-month project aimed at enhancing women’s political and social participation in Iraq. It is implemented as part of the space. The space is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and supported by Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
