Workshop on Strengthening the Role of Government Media in Combating Violent Extremism

Al-Teeba Organization for Relief and Sustainable Development conducted a training for media professionals from government institutions in Anbar Governorate/Fallujah District on the importance of using media content to combat violent extremism. This training was implemented within the framework of the project “The Role of Religious Figures and Digital Creators in Preventing Extremism.” The training was supported by the International Organization for Migration and is part of the #Civil_Society_Fund_Wasl initiative.

The workshop aimed to enhance the role of government media in combating violent extremism, which is of great importance, especially when targeting government media professionals. The media plays a vital role in shaping and directing public opinion, and thus can have a significant impact in reducing the spread of extremist ideas.
By training government media professionals, their skills in dealing with sensitive issues can be enhanced, helping to spread positive messages that promote tolerance and intercultural understanding.
Finally, the workshop can provide a platform for exchanging experiences and best practices among media professionals, contributing to building a network of cooperation to combat extremism and raising awareness about the dangers of violent extremism.
