Invitation to participate in a focus group discussion session

At the invitation of Wedo Consultancy and in partnership with Care International and PUI, Tayba Relief and Development Organization invites you to participate in a focus group discussion (FGD) session within the “Adapting to Climate Change and Reproductive Health in Iraq” project. This session aims to assess the impacts of climate change on the reproductive health sector and develop adaptation strategies in the governorates of Baghdad, Mosul, and Basra. This session aims to gather opinions and information from participants about current and future challenges related to climate change and its impact on maternal health in the targeted areas. The session focused on the impact of climate change on community health, particularly women’s health, and also discussed the readiness and response of relevant authorities.
Among the most prominent outcomes:

1. The Ministry of Health established a special department for climate change awareness within health facilities.
2. Emphasizing the need for women to visit health centers to receive the necessary care before, during, and after pregnancy.
3. The importance of involving community leaders, tribal sheikhs, and mosque imams. Spreading awareness through Friday sermons and community meetings.
4. Organizing practical training on home gardening, such as growing vegetables and fruits using simple and readily available materials.
   We believe that collective action and community awareness are the first line of defense against the effects of climate change on our health and lives.
