From the heart of the capital, Baghdad, the activities of the “Combating Violent Extremism and Building Community Peace” project were launched.

Under the generous patronage of His Excellency Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, and based on the National Youth Development Initiative, and with the support and cooperation of the Supreme Council for Youth and the Department of Non-Governmental Organizations, Al-Tayba Relief and Development Organization organized a specialized two-day training workshop on June 23 and 24, 2025, in Baghdad Governorate.
The workshop was titled:
“Combating Violent Extremism and Building Community Peace”
The workshop targeted a group of young men and women from Baghdad, focusing on developing their capacities and enhancing their awareness of the dangers of violent extremism. It also provided them with skills in constructive dialogue, tolerance, and coexistence, encouraging them to actively contribute to establishing a culture of civil peace within their communities.
The main topics covered in the workshop included:
- The concept of violent extremism, its causes, and its effects on individuals and society.
- Mechanisms for preventing extremism and drift toward extremist groups.
- Enhancing communication and effective dialogue skills among youth.
- Launching and implementing youth initiatives that promote community cohesion and peace.
- Empowering youth to play an active role in spreading awareness and promoting a culture of coexistence.
Al-Tayyiba Relief and Development Organization emphasized the importance of investing in the energies of youth and involving them in efforts to combat extremism and promote peace, given their pivotal role in building a safe and stable society.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the organization expressed its deep gratitude to all the supporting entities that contributed to the success of this activity, most notably:
