“As part of the “Time for Iraqi Women” initiative

The Al-Teeba Relief and Development Organization participated as part of a delegation of women’s organizations in Iraq in a meeting held with His Excellency President Nizar Amidi on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the Peace Palace in Baghdad.
The women’s delegation was headed by Ms. Khanum Latif, and included a select group of representatives from various organizations and activists in the field of women’s rights. Engineer Tayyiba Al-Qaisi represented the Al-Tayyiba Relief and Development Organization. During the meeting, she emphasized the importance of continuing to support and empower Iraqi women in various fields, particularly in economic and social spheres, and of enhancing women’s presence in decision-making positions. She also discussed the challenges facing women in light of current changes.
The meeting also included congratulations to His Excellency the President on assuming office, as well as discussions on key issues related to the situation of Iraqi women and ways to enhance their active participation in society and state institutions.
During the meeting, the President affirmed the Presidency’s support for initiatives and programs that contribute to strengthening women’s rights and expanding their role in the development and reconstruction process. He commended the significant role played by Iraqi women’s organizations in serving humanitarian and social causes.
For its part, the Al-Teeba Relief and Development Organization expressed its thanks and appreciation to Ms. Khanum Latif for her distinguished efforts in gathering and unifying the voice of women’s organizations, and her continuous commitment to supporting the issues of Iraqi women and enhancing their presence in various national forums, praising her leadership role and tireless efforts in serving and empowering women.
